Kuwait celebrated its National Day (اليوم الوطني) on June 19 to mark the anniversary of its full independence, achieved on June 19, 1961, when Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah signed the treaty terminating the 1899 Anglo-Kuwaiti Agreement. To commemorate this national milestone on June 19, 1964, Kuwait’s postal administration issued a special commemorative set printed by Joh. Enschedé in Netherlands.
