For the 1964 observance, the WHO selected tuberculosis control under the global theme "No Truce for Tuberculosis," aiming to mobilize international efforts against a disease that remained a major public health threat worldwide. The campaign emphasized early detection, mass screening, preventive vaccination, and expanded clinical treatment programs across developing and rapidly modernizing nations. To support this global public health drive, Kuwait’s postal administration issued a dedicated commemorative stamp series on April 7, 1964. Releasing this set highlighted Kuwait's ongoing expansion of its national healthcare infrastructure, free public medical services, and preventative health screening programs during its post-independence development era. Participating in the WHO's global philatelic campaign allowed the country to promote public health awareness locally while demonstrating active alignment with international medical standards and humanitarian initiatives.
